How we hold ±0.01 mm on jewellery-scale parts, and what that means for tension settings and seamless hinges.

Jewellery components are small, but their machining challenges are not. At this scale, tool deflection, heat and workholding errors that look negligible on a larger industrial part can decide whether a clasp closes cleanly or a tension setting performs as designed.
Five axes, fewer compromises
Simultaneous 5-axis movement lets us keep the cutting tool at the correct angle as it travels around compound jewellery surfaces. A component can be machined in fewer setups, reducing datum changes and the tolerance stack that comes with every re-clamping operation.
The control loop
Program from the released CAD model and define critical-to-quality dimensions.
Probe the billet and fixture to establish the real machining origin.
Measure first-off components, compensate where required, then lock the validated process.
Sample production throughout the batch and retain inspection records.
Where ±0.01 mm matters
A tolerance is useful only when it protects function. We reserve tight control for interfaces such as hinge pins, bearing faces, stone seats and calibrated spring zones. Cosmetic surfaces receive the machining allowance needed for finishing without sacrificing their final geometry.
Precision is not a number added to a drawing. It is a chain of decisions that must survive from CAD through final inspection.
